Apple Favor Tags

Early this year, one of my friends asked me to design a favor tag for a bridal shower she was hosting. She gave each guest a jar of caramel and an apple packaged in a cellophane bag and needed a tag for them. Here's what I created for her.

She also wanted place cards for guest seating.

It's so fun when someone contacts me to make something that isn't in my shop!

Bad Pants in Texas

I was contacted by the director of The Bad Pants Open Tournament benefiting the Texas Children's Hospital. She requested 40 centerpiece sticks for the tournament. Of course I jumped at the challenge. But, there was a catch...she needed them made and delivered in only 5 days. So, in true me fashion, I got busy and had these 40 centerpiece sticks out in less than 24 hours.

She wanted some of the golf balls made with logos as well as some "fun colored" flags-since this IS the tournament of bad pants!

C is for Cookie!

Last week I had a request for my Cookie Monster food tents with printing. I love the wording my sweet customer chose!

NYC bound

Here's just a few of the 65 invitations that I created for a sweet customer's ice skating party at Wollman Rink in Central Park! That sure was A LOT of tiny marshmallows to attach to those mugs!

For the love of polka dots!

I am obsessed with LOVE polka dots! I REALLY want to create a gold polka dot wall in my studio! There are so many great photos of polka dot walls on Pinterest. I've been inspired. I'm hoping to someday soon have an "after" photo of this boring (and horribly photographed) wall covered in gold polka dots...

Any guesses?

Can you guess what the theme that I've been busy creating today is called? HINT: It's not candy or ballerina.

How it all started....

I've been very busy adding new products and party themes to the shop these past few weeks. Too bad my brain works much faster than my hands! I have so many items and themes that I want to add eventually!

All of these ideas floating around in my head and scribbled on scraps of paper got me thinking about how my love of party planning and decorating has evolved since I became a mommy.

I remember looking through birthday themes when my first born was turning 1. Since you only turn 1 once, I wanted to make sure I had a unique party for my baby! I didn't want a party that anyone else could have easily recreated.  It had to be different. It's easy to go to the store, load up on every birthday item you see. Anyone can do that! I wanted to make the party OURS.

So I created her birthday invitation and have made them for her (and her sister!) every year since! Each year I've added more and more handmade decorations to both of my daughters' birthday parties. And once the party is over, I use these items as keepsakes from their birthday that year and have instant scrapbook pages.

When my girls were each too young to ask for a specific birthday theme, I was the one who got to choose their party. I always picked color schemes and something cute (usually food related!) to go with the colors...pink and yellow cupcake party, pink and brown ice cream party. Basically, I loved thinking of themes that weren't in the party aisle at Target.

I have to say that there's nothing wrong with character themed parties but there is something special when you take that character and customize your party and SPRINKLE it with personalized and unique handmade items. I've thrown several licensed character parties but made them all very different than something you'd find in a big box store or at the party you went to last month. The world of licensed characters can collide with handmade goodness!

In the next few weeks, I'll be posting some of the parties I've created for my girls in the past as well as ways to use the products in the shop. For now, it's off to work on some decorations for a "photo shoot" this week!
